Exposition of the Rougerie/Bechut/Rainier/Perrot project, group Barwa, for the Extension on the sea for the Principalty of Monaco launched by Prince Albert II

All of the proposals that kept the attention of Prince Albert II for his huge project of Extension on the Sea for the Principalty of Monaco, launched in december 2006, will be displayed at the Grimaldi forum in Monaco from january 24 to february 7, 2009. Along with the project proposed by the Barwa group and its architects Rougerie/Béchut/Perrot/Rainier, the four other competing projects drawned by the most internationally famous architects (Norman Foster, Franck Gerry, Daniel Libeskind and Leoh Ming Pei) will allow the one year competition work in order to offer an innovative concept for the asked 275.000 m² gigantic extension on the sea (first phase) to be witnessed. A total building cost of more than 10 billions euros, this unique project will arise, off the actual coastline of Monaco, a brand new neighborhood with its private and public housings, its shopping areas, its schools, its maritime walkways, its marinas and its museum, true lightning construction and a symbol for this new Monaco looking towards the future that will also be sustainable and respectful of the marine environment.
